Good News, Bad News and No News

Yesterday afternoon, they gave Lexi a MRI to check the mass and she slept right through it without having to sedate her (Great News!!)

A few hours after the MRI, we met with the Oncologist and they really couldn’t tell anything from the MRI, so it’s still a mystery.

They are hoping to learn more from the blood tests that they took yesterday, but the results won’t be back until Thursday at the earliest, so they went ahead and scheduled Lexi for another test, sort of like the MRI, called (I think) MIBG on Wednesday.

They did tell us that she is doing great for having an AV Canal heart defect (Thank you for the prayers). She is totally off of oxygen and IV now and is feeding on her own (with the help of mom) and it’s no longer necessary that she’s in NICU. They are trying to get us a normal room in the hospital, so we would have a place to hang out and spend the night with her.

There is a chance that we might be able to take her home, early next week and just bring her in on Wednesday for the test and to be monitored. If the MIBG and blood tests determine that the tumor needs to be removed ASAP, they will be doing the surgery on Friday and she would need to be in the hospital (NICU) for 1 to 3 weeks to recover.

Thank you again for all of the support and prayers and Happy Valentine’s Day.
