Surgery Day

The last post was written to be posted last night, but I was having issues with the internet, so pretend like its Thursday night when you read it.

Today is the day the doctors will surgically remove the tumor that is by her right kidney and as you can see from the last post, they moved the time to noon, with a 10:45 check-in.

We arrived right on time, but the doctor's morning surgery was running late, so we had to sit for a few hours, before she got in.

They took her back around 1:30pm and said they would call as soon as the first incision is made.

At around 2:30 the doctor paged us, because he wanted to talk to us. After we met with him he let us know that they hadn't started yet and the anesthesiologists were still hooking her up to the IVs and monitors, but he needed us to sign consent, so they could give her a blood transfusion, if needed.

We finally received a call at 3:40pm, saying that they had started the surgery and so far everything was going good and that they would call back every couple of hours with an update.

At this point the surgery will take 4 to 5 hours and then around 1 hour for recovery and finally she'll be moved to the NICU, where we can finally see her again.

I'll do my best to update this tonight after the surgery is over.

Thank you to everyone for all of the support and please say a prayer for Lexi
