Tomorrow is the big day

We spent most of the day yesterday at Childrens Hospital while the doctors checked Lexi out to make sure she is good to go for her heart surgery on Thursday morning and everything checked out great, so we are all set to go.
We also met with the surgeon who will be preforming the surgery and he explained in great detail what was wrong, why we needed to do the surgery and how he was going to fix her heart. He also had to tell us about all of the things that could go wrong and of course we had to sign paper work saying that we give them our permission to perform the surgery. I found this website that does a pretty good job explaining her heart defect Click Here to check it out.

We also met with the anesthesiologist and they explained to us how they will put her to sleep, what drugs she'll be on during the surgery and after and told us what lines and tubes she'll have in her and why. They also had to explain to us what could go wrong and again we had to sign more paper work giving our permission.

I think the hardest part to hear is that they need to stop her heart, put her on a bypass machine and saw open her rib cage at the breast plate, so they can split her chest open to do the surgery. Thinking about my baby in pain brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.

Thank you for all of the kind words and prayers

Here are some cell phone pictures from yesterday’s visit.
