We had a meeting with an oncologist yesterday to go over the results of Lexis test and it looks like they are 90% sure it’s a benign Teratoma tumor. So far this is good news, but it’s pressing up against her stomach and right kidney and it needs to be removed.
Next Tuesday, we have four meetings at Children’s, starting at 9:30AM and goes until around 6:00PM.
The first one is with the surgeon that will be performing the surgery on the tumor and then we meet with the anesthesiologist, so they can check Lexi out to make sure her heart can take the surgery.
In the afternoon we meet with a cardiologist, so they can monitor Lexi’s heart and make sure she’s still doing well and at around 3pm, they are doing an echogram on her heart and it will take 2 to 3 hours.
The surgery for the tumor is already setup for Tuesday 3/6 and she will be in recovery anywhere from 1 week to a month, but we should know more on Tuesday when we meet the doctors.
