Scary Few Days

Will, the last few days have been a little scary.

It started out on Saturday evening when her blood pressure dropped down even more and she was breathing 100% off of the ventilator, also her red blood cell count was down, so on Sunday morning they gave her a blood transfusion, which gave her a bad rash, but seemed to help with the blood pressure, so they started to wean her off of the dopamine.

She was pretty out of it on Sunday because of the morphine and they said they need to get her off of it, so she can hopefully start to breathe on her own, so they started to wean her off and started giving her Tylenol for the pain. By Sunday evening her morphine had been reduced around 25% and she was starting to breathe on her own a little bit when she was awake and moving around, but as soon as she fell asleep, she would stop.

Sunday night also brought some good news when we found out that her blood pressure was looking good and they had her 100% off of the dopamine.

Monday, was a tough day because she is now wakening up, but with the breathing tube still in her throat she keeps gagging on it and she keeps trying to cry, but doesn't make any noise because of the tube. Breaks my heart every time it happens and we still can't hold her, which makes it even harder.

By Monday evening, Lexis breathing was looking a lot better and they are talking about taking her off of the breathing tube on Tuesday afternoon.

They are also talking about removing the catheter and IV in the neck by Tuesday evening, because the longer they keep it in, the bigger the chance she may get an infection.

It's now Tuesday morning and they are still planning to remove the breathing tube this afternoon. Her blood pressure still looks good and she's only on a small amount of morphine.

I'll do my best to update this later this evening and I hope to have a bunch of good news
